23rd December 2025
This blog post is part of a series called "2025 Wrapped" where I share videos of my students celebrating their learning achievements across 2025.
One thing I love about teaching is allowing everyone a chance to learn, no matter what experience they've had in the past, good or bad, and helping them get to the level they want to be. Occasionally, I'll receive requests from people who have gone back and forth in their heads about having lessons... for decades. Seriously.
Let's say Amy is not 25 anymore, and we'll leave it at that. She began her journey with me in July this year, after years of enduring a persistent cough on a daily basis, and hardly ever being able to finish an entire song on account of the tickling in her throat. So we tend to keep things gentle on her voice and only do what she's capable of that day. Throughout our lessons together, we've also discovered that Amy's favourite songs are those with authentic emotion and deep meaning to their lyrics, especially ballads from the 60s and 70s.
So for 2025 Wrapped, Amy has bravely shared a performance of Edelweiss from The Sound of Music. Enjoy!
